as i was looking for something new to spark my interests, despite the cheezy commercials and crap cinematics i watched, i picked up dragon age origins for the pc for my love of diablo 2 and baulders gate, and im quite impressed the voice over work, it was done well and the graphics are very detailed. its an rpg that ive been playing all day and intend to play to the end ... as of now my only regret is getting it on the pc instead of the xbox 360, although it feels more smooth with the keyboard and mouse approach. i think the xbox 360 remote would have added the depth and maybe not so much click to move feeling.. so far the story is great i have started an elf rouge specializing as an archer and an arcane mage human .. next will be the dwarf bezerker .. there are 8 different storys to play so the game hasnt been the same each time through. that alone very much made me happy since i started 3 times with 3 diff people and got 3 diff story lines .. they all blend into the main story but the choices you make define your good to bad similar to fable. true to the rpgs of the past its approach is similar to neverwinter nights ... a bioware classic and easily one of the best dnd roms to date. i was never a fan of the paper pen and dice game but i did enjoy it on the pc. im excited to see where the story goes and im happy i picked it up.

i just thought i would share my first thought with all you d2 and rpg fans out there. Bioware shines with their new title and if your a rpg or a rts fan this game might be right up your ally. so dragon age 2 gets a thumbs up from me and if any of u pick it up and care to chat about it send me a msg take care all and happy gaming!

i havent figured out how to get my guy to nail morigan yet either, you only have one chance when she says a certain thing and i might have missed it. you gotta love alistair for how retarded he is also, some of the things he say

Get wynne from the tower she is a great healer, having her in your party makes the fights so much easier. You can nail the sister of the light you get, but i havent figured that one out yet, and shes at maxed standing with me. Though last night my guy did nail morigan last night right after i made that post lol. I think you have to give her the black grimoire that you get in redcliffe castle, golden hand mirror that you get from a vendor in orzimmar, talk to her alot about her past then talk to her in camp. She said something to me like "it gets awefully cold in my tent at night", and i was like OHHHHH YEAAAAAAAH!!!

right now its 3 rogues and a mage lol we put out hellatious dps when we all focus a target but its rough going when they all run off to pick out their own ... the guy in the cage is worthless and the dog is ok but he dies really fast so i used him a little but not much i like the sister of the light cause her lockpicking is high and i like the shapeshift skills of morgain atm im still doing all the quests from the chantry boards mage letters and the other guys with the chest ... should finish those up tonight and back to the main story

i like this game its interesting how u can kill people or bring them into your party

been ten years already since the first baldur's gate. I think I started PC D&D with pools of radiance, but i really didn't like it. Dark Sun-shattered lands was the first PC D&D i really liked, but wow was it a pain to get MS DOS to run it. Back then programs had to be tricked to recognize any thing over 640k ram. Almost each of my games had its own boot disk. I think X-wing or wing commander three were harder to get to work though.

Back to shattered lands: i think you could make an argument that Baldur's gate took alot of ideas from that game.

by far my favorite game of the year i think risen coming in second i went dwarf noble rogue and not 100% sure but i think the item u need to get any further with liliana is a flower called andraste's grace i have no idea where i got it but its a plot item that makes her go into cenimatic mode like morrigan and the black book and BTW A DESIRE DEMON!!!!!!!! not an elf but who cares its purple!

--

i found the flower and i gave alistar the broken necklace and the assassin the old wine ... and morgain ive given her a ton of stuff but she still hates me ...

u gotta give morrigan the black grimore and do the quest she gives u afterwards to make her not hate u im pretty sure and even then she doesnt actually admit she likes u she just hints around to it and hides it but she gets pissed if u try to impress liliana im thinking maybe that u cant unlock both cut scene for the girls with the same character it has to be one or the other but not 100% sure i cant get it to happen yet

--

well i beat the game i think the ending was awesome but it made me sad its been along time since ive seen such a well done game not sure what to make my next character cause ive definately gotta play that through again

--

I just finished the game as a dwarf rogue, caste less rather than noble. The game play was good, but the writing/plot/storyline/voice acting was fantastic. Best Role in RPG I've seen on the PC.

Speaking of voice acting - a number of the voice actors were recognizable. A certain Dalish elf, for instance, has seen time on a now off the air Star Trek series.

Funny enough I nailed Morrigan, Leliana, and even Zevran (or whatever his name is) the male assassin elf. Yes, the game does seem to support homosexual relationships. I felt unclean afterward, but I couldn't help it when I saw the option to see what the game would do.

so ... let the gay jokes fly?
